LEITI Multi-Stakeholder Group Engages EITI International Secretariat in Introductory Validation Meeting

Today, January 16, 2026, the Multi-Stakeholder Group (MSG) of the Liberia Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (LEITI) held a virtual introductory meeting with the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) International Secretariat Validation Team, as part of Liberia’s Validation process, which commenced on January 1, 2026.

During the meeting, members of the EITI International Validation Team and the MSG formally introduced themselves. The Validation Team then delivered a presentation outlining the validation process, scoring methodology, key expectations, and plans for an upcoming mission to Liberia to conduct stakeholder consultations.

MSG members posed several pertinent questions, all of which were comprehensively addressed by the Validation Team, helping to establish a strong foundation for the validation exercise.

The MSG expressed its appreciation to the Validation Team, reaffirmed its commitment to actively participate throughout the validation process, and welcomed the planned validation mission to Liberia scheduled for March 2–5, 2025.
